A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
a 6x6 pixel game by @TheRealMolen for #lowrezjam 2018
i thought it might be fun to try and make a game with only 36 pixels, and what I came up with was this - part musical game, part 16 step sequencer
audio is critical - this is a music game!
when the screen is grey, it's playing you a rhythm.
when it turns orange, it's playing back your attempt to match that rhythm!
-----<: CONTROLS :>-----
1 2 3 4
q w e r
a s d f
z x c v
pressing these buttons changes what sound plays on a certain beat of the rhythm. keep pressing to cycle through the available sounds!
try holding SHIFT or ALT

everything created by Alex Mole, @TheRealMolen
written in C++ with SDL
sounds recorded from Teenage Engineering Pocket Operators & Bastl Softpop
The easiest way to play stix is to install it from the itch.io app!
On Mac, if you want to download manually, you'll need to extract the zip file, and then copy the "Contents" folder it creates into a new folder called "stix.app". I'm not sure why you need to do this - I'm an itch.io n00b, and I think I have some issue with how I uploaded the build :/
